4 must-dos this Sydney Royal Easter Show (apart from buying showbags!)
The Sydney Royal Easter Show was a dream-come-true as a kid.
Remember the thrill of running through the entrance gates and being overwhelmed with the sights and sounds of the pirate ship, the ghost train, the whack-a-mole and the sideshow alleys?
How about cramming your mouth full of fairy-floss, sausage rolls, and whatever sweet-treats there were to sample in the competitions?
However, the part we all looked forward to the most was always the same - the showbags!
Now, it’s your turn to manage screaming, sugar-thirsty kids, dragging mum and dad into the showbag pavilion to search for the perfect haul of lollies.
There are millions of showbags to choose from, from Barbie to Marie Claire to Marvel’s Avengers, and the treats inside make travelling out to the Easter Show all the more worth it.
But there’s so much more to the show than the showbag pavilion.
This year, Ugg Express will be there to keep you and your feet nice and toasty at the Royal Easter Show. We want to help create the perfect day for you and your kids, so we’ve pulled together a list of 4 must-dos at the show that don't involve buying a showbag!
Easter Show Must Do #1. Try to win a monster-sized block of chocolate

Of course, a whole chunk of your kid’s excitement about The Royal Easter Show is dedicated to the prospect of delicious sweet treats… and who wouldn’t want a massive block of chocolate?
Instead of hauling the youngsters straight to the showbag pavilion, we reckon you should make them earn their dessert!
Encourage the kids’ competitive spirit and take them to a sideshow alley. Challenge them to find a game they think they can win. Ask them to come up with a strategy before they take their $3 turn at the clowns or their 2 for 5 goes at the basketball shooting game.
Most of the sideshow games offer child-delighting gifts and toys - this year, urge the kids to go for the novelty chocolate bars… you might even get a piece yourself!
Easter Show Must-Do #2. Shout the kids a roll of tickets for the rides

Running around the Easter Show with a belly full of sugar and a roll full of ride tickets probably sounds like some sort of torturous punishment for anyone over the age of 30.
You’d be queasy for weeks.
But like it or not - that’s every kid’s idea of the perfect day at the show.
Easter Show ride tickets can be expensive and the receipts start to stack up towards the end of the day. If you don’t have a budget going in, you can easily cave to the constant threat of tantrums and end up leaving the venue with minimal dosh (and the after-effects of motion sickness).
We’d all love to open our show bags and discover a thick roll of ride tickets. The pressure of having enough coins to get on the Pirate’s Revenge would be lifted, and it’d be easier to drag friends onto the scariest rides with free tickets!
But the kids have to learn that all good things come to an end.
Teach the kids about managing their money and enjoying their treats in moderation. Agree on a budget for the day and buy your roll of ride tickets first thing. Explain to the kids that it’s their decision how they use their ride tickets, but when they are gone - they are gone for good!
No excuses! No tantrums!
Easter Show Must-Do #3: Score a fresh pair of fluffy ugg boots (complete with a care kit)

We’re going to be selling our super soft, fabulously fluffy ugg boots at the Easter Show, so we’d love to see a pair of uggs in your show bag this year!
Our ugg boots are perfectly paired with a monster-sized block of chocolate and an afternoon snuggled up on the couch.
Autumn is just around the corner, so stock up on a brand spanking pair of new uggs for you and the kids to prepare for the winter chill.
We’ve got uggs for ladies, men, and even the kids! The kids can throw on their Pony Australian Sheepskin Uggs before watching the “Horse Experience” show or hitting up the horse riding, then change into their Bull Terrier Sheepskin Uggs to watch the dog show!
We’d also throw in an ugg boot care kit including ugg shampoo, oil and water repellant spray, plus a cleaning sponge to keep your uggs fresh…
They’re gonna need it after running around the Easter Show!
Easter Show Must-Do #4: See the puppies!

What does everyone love more than chocolate, free tickets, and super soft ugg boots combined?
PUPPIES!
The Royal Sydney Easter Show has countless dog-related shows and competitions, including:
-
The Baby Puppy Competition i.e. puppies running around the ring for a while, then getting prizes *cries*
-
The Canine Heroes Awards, celebrating doggos who have shown incredible bravery or transformed a life of adversity *CRIES HARDER*
-
The ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Dog Show, the largest official canine competition in Australia (over 4,000 entries per year)
- The Yard Dog Competition, designed to let kelpies and collies strut their stuff, round up some sheep, and win awards
Set aside an hour dedicated to the doggos this year. The kids will love to watch the show dogs in action, and you’ll get the chance to take a seat and relax with having to worry about little people scurrying off to chase the next shiny thing in every possible direction.
The extra Easter Show Must-Do: Reward yourself for a job well done!
It’s not just the kids who deserve to gorge themselves on a showbag. You’ve earned a little treat for your mammoth day’s work!
You’ll make the annual pilgrimage to the showbag tent, so give yourself an edible Easter Show souvenir.
The traditional show bag is filled with mountains of lollies including sherbert, gummies, gobstoppers, and mixed-flavoured lollipops, but the favourite choice for the more mature Easter Show-goer has got to be the chocolate.
We’re not talking Smarties or M&Ms.
We’re not even talking about the mini Nutella jars.
We’re talking about the top-notch high-quality stuff.
Give us Hershey’s, Cadbury, or Lindt! We want rich, high-quality blocks of chocolate, too enormous to finish in one sitting (or twelve). Indulge yourself, and take a deep breath when the kids are in bed later that night.
Sit back to relax in your brand new comfy uggs with a glass and a half of your favourite treat!
Best show bag ever!
From March 23 to April 3, Ugg Express will be selling ugg boots, ugg cleaning products, and other sheepskin items at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Why not drop in and have a chat with us about your dream show bag?
Don’t forget to pick up a pair of boots for the cooler seasons, too!
We’ll have a massive range of mens, womens, and childrens ugg boots available for purchase at affordable prices, so you can keep your feet warm while running around watching the dog shows, sneaking onto roller coasters, and getting a major sugar high from all the lollies.
